US Naval Observatory Infrared Camera
A general purpose near infrared (JKH) camera was designed and commissioned for the 61-inch telescope of the US Naval Observatory, Flagstaff, Arizona. Based on the Rockwell International NICMOS3 HgCdTe array with 256 x 256 pixels. This camera provides a complete "turn-key" system with menu-driven software for image capture and display. The instrument contains a 6-position filter wheel and is cooled with liquid nitrogen.
First Light was obtained in June 1994.
